The abbreviation VOL-VCA (occasionally also referred to as VCA-VOL) stands for Safety for Operational Managers. The diploma is therefore specifically aimed at operational managers, ZZP-ers and Team Leaders, who need to comply with the VCA standards and are employed in the following fields:
- Construction
- Mechanical engineering
- Civil engineering
- Technical services
- Electrical engineering
- Process control
- And others.

What subjects are covered by the VOL- VCA diploma?
The European legislation and regulations in the field of safety are dealt with extensively during an VCA-VOL course. You also gain knowledge of the company emergency plan, the VCA company certificate and about the organization of toolbox meetings. In addition, the following subjects are also dealt with:
- Important aspects of the law in the field of safety
- Environmental laws related to the different fields of work
- How to encourage safe working
- Working conditions
- Ergonomics
- Procedures and work permits
- Task and risk analysis.
- Personal Protection Equipment ( PPE )
- Dealing with hazardous substances
The exam
The exam will take place at the end of the day. The exam can be done in more than 20 different languages. For the B-VCA you have 60 minutes to answer 40 multiple-choice questions. The passing grade for the exam is 65%.
When you successfully pass the exam, you will receive a digital certificate and a VCA card. This certificate is valid for 10 years.
